When you make the decision to seek out treatment, you are demonstrating the courage that is necessary to pursue a life-changing experience. It is a decision that can ultimately save your life; yet, it can be a very intimidating challenge to face.

At Sierra Tucson, we recognize the sensitive nature that surrounds the process of seeking and receiving care for mental health concerns and substance abuse issues, which is why we strive to make the initial process as seamless and as comfortable as possible.

Beginning the Admissions Process

Those who are interested in receiving care here at Sierra Tucson can begin the admissions process by contacting our admissions department. Our knowledgeable and helpful team of admission professionals are on hand to answer any questions that you may have. They are also able to review the treatment options that are available, as well as complete a pre-admission screening to determine if our services will fully meet your needs.

When you contact our admissions team, we will first and foremost offer you the compassion and support that you deserve. We are here to listen, without judgment, and answer any and all questions that you may have so that you are able to make the most optimal decision for meeting your needs.

Admissions Criteria

All admissions to Sierra Tucson are made on an individualized basis. Each person’s unique needs, concerns, and treatment goals are thoroughly reviewed, and admissions will be based on those specifiers.

That being said, there are a few general criteria that all prospective residents must meet in order to receive care at Sierra Tucson, including the following:

  • Ages 18 or older
  • Able to perform activities of daily living
  • Demonstrate a willingness to participate in treatment

We are pleased to provide treatment for the following concerns:

  • Addictions
  • PTSD and other forms of trauma
  • Chronic and complex pain conditions
  • Mood and anxiety disorders
  • Co-occurring disorders

What to Expect

If you are considering the treatment options that we provide here at Sierra Tucson, you are able to complete the initial screening process over the phone.

Your conversation with us will be a personal and confidential conversation, and will be conducted at no cost. Our expertise in the treatment of addictions and behavioral health concerns can allow you to feel comfortable in knowing that you will be receiving the answers that you need in order to make the most informed choice about the care options that are available.

What to Have Ready When You Call

In order for us to be able to provide you with the quickest and most efficient admissions process possible, please have the following information ready to share when you call:

  • Presenting concerns
  • Psychiatric history
  • Substance abuse history
  • Medical history
  • Social history
  • Past treatment history

This information will be reviewed by our staff in order to determine medical and clinical appropriateness for the programming options we offer. It will assist us in working to ensure that we will be able to provide you with the most comprehensive treatment experience that will most optimally meet your needs.

Once it has been decided that we can best meet your treatment needs, an appropriate level of care will be determined. As soon as the individual agrees to admission, the process of beginning services and assisting them in acclimating to their therapeutic surroundings will begin.

What to Expect as a Family Member

The presence of addictions and/or mental health concerns impact not only the individual who is suffering from them, but their family members and loved ones as well. At Sierra Tucson, we recognize this fact and therefore strive to help prospective resident’s family members with the same dedication that we offer to those who are entrusted into our care.

If you are concerned about your loved one, you are welcome to contact our admissions department at any time. Just as we do for those who are interested in receiving our services, we will provide you with the kindness and encouragement that you need in order to make you feel comfortable with the process at hand.

We are ready to answer your questions, discuss the options for care that we have available, and assist you in making the most beneficial decision for your loved one. When you contact us, we provide a friendly and understanding voice, a personal, free, and private consultation, and recommend intervention services, if needed.


Currently, assessments can be completed between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday through Sunday. However, if you need to speak with someone outside of our business hours, we utilize offsite admissions coordinators for after-hours calls so that everyone always has the ability to speak with someone whenever is most convenient for them.
