Renita Thomas, LAC
As a Primary Therapist, Renita Thomas harnesses her history of working with those in the most difficult of circumstances to help them emerge to a better place. She has worked with individuals suffering from serious mental illness, including those with substance abuse struggles, as well as those who are developmentally disabled, or who have experienced homelessness as youth. Her professional career has been dedicated to helping individuals recover from maladaptive and dysfunctional behavioral tendencies, specifically those who have received court-ordered treatment for domestic violence, substance abuse, and sexually offensive behaviors.
Renita’s experience has created a passion to help victims of abuse emerge from their trauma to discover their inner strengths. At Sierra Tucson, she is blending her depth of experience with her belief that her compassion, alongside her talents, is her most positive contribution to the lives of individuals and to the community.
A Licensed Associate Counselor, Renita holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. In her leisure time, she is happiest surrounded by nature, coaching Special Olympics kids, or just kicking back with family and friends.
