Sierra Tucson Announces New Director of Eating Recovery Program

TUCSON, Ariz. (Dec. 22, 2015) – Sierra Tucson, an internationally renowned leader in behavioral and mental healthcare, has appointed Gayle Masterson, MD, as the director of its residential Eating Recovery Program. Masterson brings with her nearly 17 years of psychiatry and eating disorder experience.

Masterson combines an evidence-based approach with a human touch to provide her patients with the best possible care. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, and a doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

“I strive to achieve patient wellness and satisfaction through education, healing and compassion,” said Masterson.

Prior to joining Sierra Tucson, Masterson worked at Mirasol, Pima County Jail, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Active Duty Mental Health Services Clinic and HOPE, Inc., as well as several contracted positions.

Outside of caring for her patients, she enjoys swimming, kickboxing, camping with family, reading and playing with her three children and dog.
