We'll take a look at the relationship between the experience of anxiety and the process of evolution and assess the pre-historic purpose of anxiety in relation to human instincts and drives, contextualizing anxiety from experiences in modern times, and adapting these drawn insights to specific forms of anxiety. This 30-minute presentation will include a brief Q&A session. Please note: This is a complimentary non-CE event.

Irfan Fauq, MD
Psychiatrist

Dr. Irfan Fauq is a board-certified Psychiatrist on staff at Sierra Tucson. He spent the majority of his life growing up in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, he spent some time involved in the research development of novel antidepressants and antipsychotics. He later completed his medical degree at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, FL, in 2014. Professional interests include philosophical relationships in psychiatric practice, the biological underpinnings of therapeutic delivery, trauma-focused medical care, and psychosomatic emergence.
