Sierra Tucson provides a full continuum of care for adults age 18 and older who are navigating mental health concerns, substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. From the moment a person arrives at our campus in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains to the final stretch of their first year in recovery, every level of care is shaped by the same commitment to clinical excellence, individualized treatment planning and whole-person healing.
Detox & Stabilization Services
Detoxification and stabilization services are offered for patients who need to rid their bodies of substances and clear their minds, as well as those who need relief from acute psychiatric symptoms, before they settle into a steady routine of therapeutic work.
A multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, addictionologists, internal medicine providers and nurses is available 24/7 to monitor patients as they go through the withdrawal process or stabilize from distressing, acute symptoms of mental health disorders. Each patient completes a thorough assessment prior to entering this level of care to ensure that their needs will be properly met.
Most patients spend approximately one to three days receiving detox and stabilization services, but the exact time frame can vary based on the individual’s needs.
Once a patient is determined to be medically ready, they can move to residential care.
Residential Care
Residential care at our facility in Tucson, Arizona, is an immersive experience for adults who can benefit from stepping away from daily pressures and placing their sole focus on healing and recovery. Residents stay in southwestern-inspired lodges with semiprivate rooms and full bathrooms, and their days follow a structured rhythm that integrates therapy, medical services, wellness activities and time for personal reflection.
The care we provide is grounded in evidence-based psychiatry, individualized care planning and advanced diagnostics as opposed to predefined treatment tracks. Each resident’s care plan is shaped by a comprehensive assessment and ongoing collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
The therapies and services we offer at the residential level include individual and group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing®, psychodrama and medication management. Optional integrative services, such as acupuncture, therapeutic massage, neurofeedback and naturopathic medicine, are offered at an additional cost. These services are designed to complement the core therapeutic work our residents do while in our care.
We are dually licensed and Joint Commission-accredited, allowing for a seamless integration of medical, psychiatric and addiction-focused care for people who have complex needs and co-occurring disorders.
Connect365 Continuing Care
The first year after treatment can be the most fragile stretch of the recovery process. Connect365 is Sierra Tucson’s signature continuing care service that is designed to keep clients connected, accountable and supported for one full year after they complete residential treatment.
Through a secure, HIPAA-compliant mobile app, each client checks in, logs support meetings, completes recovery-focused tasks, sends messages with their dedicated Sierra Tucson recovery coach and receives push notifications about alumni events. The recovery coach delivers individualized support and relapse prevention assistance at no additional cost, communicating with the client weekly to offer encouragement throughout the highs and lows of early recovery.
Clients also identify a personal support team during the first meeting with their recovery coach. Trusted family members, friends, sponsors or other recovery partners can gain access to the platform with the client’s consent.
Connect365 is included with residential treatment at Sierra Tucson and reflects our belief that real recovery happens in the everyday moments after discharge, not just within the walls of a treatment center.
