With over 30 years of experience in the field of Social Work and almost two decades of management experience, Tom has been a noteworthy leader who leads by example and with compassion and dedication. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a Bachelors of Social Work. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with his Masters of Social Work. He resided in Wisconsin until 2015 when his wife and he moved to Tucson, Arizona. Tom began his career working in residential inpatient treatment. He then worked in the State of Wisconsin Foster Care system licensing foster homes, placing children, and providing therapies to children and their families. In 1998, he worked for a county human services department for 17 years where he specialized in juvenile court services and created an outpatient treatment program for youth and families which he directed. He has led workshops and trainings for government officials and other professionals throughout the State of Wisconsin, and he has conducted extensive longitudinal research in the areas of juvenile recidivism rates and treatment effectiveness.
In addition to providing patient care with excellent outcomes, Tom is also an expert witness in the area of treatment for youth and adults who sexually harm; having been called upon by the courts to testify on the subject dozens of times throughout his career. In 2016, he became a Regional Director of Behavioral Health in the West and Southwest area of the United States for a large company overseeing dozens of inpatient mental health clinics spanning 6 states. He is known for developing successful teams that provide award-winning care to patients with a wide variety of mental health and co-occurring disorders. Tom has a vast knowledge and broad range of clinical experience which he has relied upon to provide clinical supervision and administration to hundreds of masters and doctorate level clinicians. He has a down-to-earth attitude, is motivational in his approach, and has a supportive supervision style that lends well to staff retention.
