Michelle Madsen, MEd, LISAC, CADAC

Family Therapist

Michelle Madsen has served Sierra Tucson as a family therapist since June of 1990. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in sociology and another in physical education/coaching; a Master of Education in Counseling; and certifications including Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC). Previously, Michelle taught junior high and high school students and coached a variety of sports, including basketball, volleyball, track, gymnastics, and cheerleading. At Sierra Tucson, Michelle applies her teaching background in designing educational lectures and trainings for new family therapists, as well as family members. From April 2004 through October 2004, Michelle added the role of family program manager to her repertoire and continued her primary focus of facilitating weekly family groups. Michelle grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and has “two wonderful daughters, two sons-in law, and four beautiful grandchildren.”
