Chicago, IL Alumni Workshop

“Learning to Live on Life’s Terms”

September 7, 2016

Presenter:
Ashley Senderak, LCPC
Treatment Placement Specialist for Acadia Healthcare’s Recovery Division

Event Description:
When you have a bad day or make a poor choice, do you beat yourself up? No matter what the issue may be, it’s easy to feel stuck in setbacks. Recognizing the red flags of relapse and relapse-related behaviors allows you to practice self-compassion on so-called “bad” days, and to implement ongoing reminders of what a successful pattern of recovery looks like. This workshop teaches participants how to identify signs of relapse and build confidence as they learn to live on life’s terms.

About the Presenter: A native of Chicago, IL, Ashley Senderak, LCPC, is a well-respected member of the clinical community; an experienced public speaker on the topics of anxiety, stress management and OCD; and a passionate advocate for those she serves.

Senderak graduated from University of Dayton with a degree in Psychology, and then attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. She has worked on the mood disorder units on of the Midwest’s most reputable programs, including Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, where spent three years at The Center for Obsessive Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders’ Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), followed by another three years of experience with Alexian Brother’s Child PHP.

Most recently, Senderak joined the team at Rogers Memorial Hospital, where she was a supervisor and family therapist for their regional child and adolescent PHP site in Skokie, IL.

In 2013, Senderak started her own private practice with a specialization in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety Disorders for children, adolescents and adults. She has a strong passion for helping individuals and families grow in ways they never thought possible.

In her free time, Senderak loves to spend time at the gym and yoga studio, as well as try new restaurants with family and friends.
