Event Description:

Communication is an essential component to any relationship. We use various methods to communicate our thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Sometimes it can feel like we are not being heard, or the message received is not what was intended. Join us for this experiential, interactive workshop as Sue Menzie, BSN, MS, teaches us how to effectively communicate and be heard.

SueMenzie_WSM_7218Sue Menzie, BSN, MS, serves as the Director of Quality Improvement at Sierra Tucson. A registered nurse for over 40 years, including over 30 years in behavioral health, Sue has experience in all facets of behavioral health care, from acute inpatient to outpatient, for patients of all ages. She has a history of management both in health care as well as other non-health care businesses – non-profit, for-profit, public and private settings. In addition to her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico, Sue has a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University in Omaha, Nebraska. Her recent work has included servicing in hospitals as the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, Manager of Psychiatric Services and Mental Health Director in psychiatric acute units, chemical dependency, eating disorders, geriatric and outpatient settings, as well as crisis intervention, brief therapy, case management, and mobile crisis team. Sue has taught behavioral health nursing at both community college and university levels. Most recently she served as the Director of Nursing at Sierra Tucson, before accepting the position of Director of Quality Improvement.
