Elizabeth Lance has an undergraduate degree in French from the University of Kent at Canterbury in England. She taught high school French in England before immigrating to San Francisco with her husband and two children. Elizabeth attended graduate school in Rhode Island for social work, specializing in mental health, and realized she enjoyed the pastoral aspect of teaching rather than preparing lesson plans. After moving with her family to Buffalo, New York, Elizabeth worked in an outpatient psychiatric clinic before seeking the sunnier climes of southern Arizona. She has worked at Sierra Tucson for over 15 years as a primary therapist in the Eating Recovery and Mood & Anxiety programs. For the last few years, she has also worked in the Addictions / Co-occurring Disorders Program. Elizabeth supervises colleagues who are seeking state licensure.
“I love working in an environment where I am truly a member of a team that provides the best possible treatment. I enjoy watching our residents have sober fun, engage in sober laughter, and plan their future as sober individuals,” Elizabeth says.
