Brenda Baker, MEd, LISAC, returned to Sierra Tucson in March 2017. Brenda originally started her career in the substance use disorder field at Sierra Tucson in 1990, where she served as a family therapist and subsequently a primary therapist working with individuals struggling with substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. Brenda has been a primary therapist in a variety of programs throughout her tenure at Sierra Tucson, including Mood & Anxiety, Addiction Recovery, and Pain Recovery. Prior to returning to Sierra Tucson, Brenda worked as a substance use disorder clinician and clinical director for Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse in Tucson, AZ. Brenda holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in business administration and another in accounting; a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance; and she is a licensed independent substance abuse counselor. Brenda is committed to the process of healing in her personal life and helping individuals identify their strengths to empower themselves in recognizing their ability to heal and maintain sobriety. Brenda grew up in rural North Dakota and enjoys nature, music, creating with stained glass, sports, and spending time with friends, family, and animals.
